Meet Our Pastors
David and Daphene Cowan, Sr.

Pastor David Cowan, Sr. has been saved for over 55 years and comes from four generations of Pentecostal preachers, pastors, musicians and evangelists. He has been married to his wife, Co-Pastor Daphene Cowan, for 44 years and they have actively worked in ministry together since their first meeting in 1972. Working as a team in various ministries, they produced and created innovative “first ever” events in the church. Such as duplicating and rewriting ‘Your Arms Are Too Short to Box with God’ musical stage plays with an adult and all children cast in three ministries; producing major gospel recording artist (Tramain Hawkins) debut you concert at Bethany.

Community Church under the pasturage of the late Bishop Robert W. McMurray; countless concerts and musical orchestrated events. They have two adult sons David Cowan, Jr. (wife, Enjoli and to two grandsons—David Levi and Benjamin Pierce); and DaJuan Cowan, (wife Alice and twin granddaughters—Ava and Alyvia), Pastor Cowan received the call to the pastorate in 2001 while ministering in his grandfather’s church, El Bethel under the pastorate of Pastor Stephen Hamilton.

In March 2002, he launched the Love and Grace Christian Fellowship Church with his wife at his side and has not looked back.

God had prepared and impressed upon our Pastors that in order to minister to this current generation the following premise must be realized: ‘to educate, edify, and empower to evangelize’. Additionally, the fundamental principle of this ministry is to LOVE one another as Jesus commanded— because without LOVE we are not adhering to Jesus’ greatest commandment and are not a true representation of His disciples as stated in John 13:34-35
